eBike Service
We now service hub motor eBikes. We will conduct repairs on the bicycle components of these bikes only with some exceptions. We have access to Bafang hardware so we can diagnose issues with the newer generation of Bafang electronics. Most Direct to Consumer Internet brands use proprietary electronics so we will not get into electronic issues with them.
We will not service eBike conversions in any fashion. We will not service any of the “Surron” type eMotorcycles. Any eBike that cannot be lifted in our workstand may be declined from service.
Mid drive type bicycles with drive systems by Shimano, SRAM, Bosch, Fazua, Specialized, etc will generally be serviced without issue though some of the bikes out there have proprietary software so we cannot diagnose electronics problems.
Many services on eBikes are more costly than similar repairs on pedal bicycles. This is due to the increased weight of the vehicle, complexity of repair, and additional time required to complete the repairs. We will provide you with a quote for service prior to completing any services.
We may ask you to remove the battery from the bike so please come prepared to remove it and take it with you.
As eBikes become more standardized it will become easier to work on most of the bikes out there. Unfortunately many of the Internet and Direct to Consumer brands out there are cutting a lot of corners, selling poorly thought out, and in many cases very poorly manufactured bicycles using entry level components that are ill suited to do the extra duties required in eBikes.

MJ’s Cyclery opened in 2014 with the goal of getting more people on bikes and out of their cars. Whether that means changing up your commute, heading to the store for some groceries, or going out with friends we are here to help.
We have grown into a full service shop well versed in anything from a basic commuter hybrid to an electronic shifting carbon road bike or high end mountain bike.
Any new bicycle purchased from us includes 5 years of free basic maintenance. Brake, shifting, and overall adjustments are included. More advanced repairs and wear item replacements (chain, brake pads, etc) are the responsibility of the owner.
We are a stocking dealer for the Marin Bikes and Scott brands. Marin bicycles date back to 1986 when the mountain bike revolution was in full swing. As many brands do they added other segments to their lineup over the years. Today’s Marin offerings include mountain, gravel, road, cyclocross, commute, neighborhood, and kids’ bikes.
We are also a dealer for Transition Bicycle Company, Banshee Bikes, Argon18, Scott Bikes, All-City, Surly, and Soma. There are several other brands available to us as well.

Service
Service is mostly caught up as we move into Fall. Now is a great time to get your bike in tip top shape after the long Summer.
Note: The scheduling app will state 10 AM drop off and a 2 or 4 hour window but due to the way we schedule work jobs are promised by End of Day not a particular time.
To ensure service on a particular day you should make an appointment. Otherwise feel free to bring the bike in for an assessment. If choose to do so you may leave the bicycle with us until the service date or bring it back in on the service date.
NOTE: Flat repairs and other similar small jobs are generally done same day, no appointment required. Just pop in and we will get it done as quickly as the day’s service will allow.

New Things In The Shop
Outbound Lighting
Fall is upon us and comes with it Daylight Savings and night riding. Is your light up to the task? You don’t have to default to the Peleton or trainer. The trails are wide open at night. A good light makes night rides a very enjoyable experience.
We had been hearing great things about the Outbound lights so we added them to the mix. All the handlebar mounted lights use the same fixed mount that you can quickly attach and remove your light from.
We have several of the helmet and bar mount versions in stock at the shop priced the same as you would pay if you ordered direct.
Knog
Front bicycle lights are an important part of any cyclist’s kit, they help illuminate the cycle path, trail or road, and ensure the cyclist is visible. Knog’s wide range of best-in-class front lights allow any cyclist to pick the right light for their riding type.
We have in stock several of the Blinder 600 and 900 as well as several of the tail lights.
